Mario is the main protagonist of New Super Mario Bros Wii. He along with Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad, are on a long and monotanous quest to save Princess Peach.

How Mario ControlsEdit

In this game, Mario controls fairly easily. *All Controls are for WiiMote horizontally.

  • Press "2" = Jump
  • Press & Hold "1" = Run
  • Press "D-Pad Left & Right" = Walk
  • Press and Hold "1" next to (ex. barrell, box, POW Block = Carry Item
  • Shake Wii Remote = Spin Jump
  • Shake while with Propeller Mushroom = Fly
  • Press "1" = (w/ item) Throw fireball/iceball

Mario's HistoryEdit

Mario began as an idea, as all things do. Mario began life as "Jumpman" and was featured first in the popular arcade game, "Donkey Kong". After this, "Jumpman" had his named changed to Mario, in which his creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, had named after Nintendo's italian landlord, Mario Segale. Over the many years, Mario has gone through many changes, from 2D, to 3D, to 2.5D, and back to 3D. Mario's first title by himself was Super Mario Bros, released on November 17th, 1985 in North America for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). He then went through many looks, and had a big evolution in 1996, with the release of Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. He finally went full-on 3D, exploring his way through vast, colorful worlds, all much larger than he could have ever seen before. A few other popular 3D Mario titles, such as Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2. His first portable 3D title, Super Mario 3D Land, was released in November 2011 in all regions, for the Nintendo 3DS. Mario has also had many sub-series, branching off the main one:
