New Super Mario Bros Wii is a classic Mario sidescroller, released by Nintendo in 2009 for the Wii. It is the sixth installement in the Super Mario Bros series, and is the indirect sequel to New Super Mario Bros, released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS. This game brought forward some new features into the series, such as the ability for 4 players to play at one time, and also features new levels, enemies, and items for the player to enjoy. This game also introduced the Super Guide feature, which is activated if a player dies 8 or more times in a level. Then Luigi is called in and you may watch him play through the level, and even play as him if you press "+"during the tutorial. This game sold around 14.7 million copies worldwide.

The story begins on Princess Peach's birthday. The Mario Bros, Peach, and a few random Toads, are celebrating with the Princess. Then, a large cake walks into the room. The group stared at the cake in awe, only to find out it was Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings ready to kidnap the Princess. They throw her on a ship, and fly off. Then, Mario, Luigi, and two Toads run after them. Back at the castle, two more Toads take two presents marked with a Propeller Shroom and a Penguin Suit are thrown into a cannon, and shot across the nine
worlds that Mario, Luigi, and the Toads will be crossing on their race to Peach.

When the gang finally reach the castle in World 8, they find, you guessed it, Bowser, with the Princess in a cage. You need to press the ! switch underneath her, and Bowser will be gone.

After the Mario Bros, Princess Peach, and the Toads fly off in their Hot Air Balloons, the Koopalings are seen in front of the castle, with Lemmy Koopa slowly walking toward them. They try to make the currently unconscious Bowser turn over, only to find out when that happened, the castle tipped over on them and they were crushed.

Features of GameplayEdit

In this game, it can be played by yourself, or in a multiplayer cooperative mode. You are free to move on the World Map, as long as you do not bump in to the Course Ememy. In an actual level, the camera can be a helpful, or hindering feature, because of constant moving due to where characters are at the time, either far away, or close together. Each level has a time limit. If a player fails to reach the Flagpole at the end, the player will lose a life.
